How does the DPI calculator work?
The DPI calculator uses the formula: DPI = (360 × 2.54) / (cm/360 × sensitivity × yaw). Each game has a different yaw value that determines how sensitivity translates into real movement. Knowing your ideal DPI helps you configure your mouse to achieve exactly the movement distance you need in each game.
Tips about DPI
- 800 DPI is the most widely used standard among professional FPS players
- Higher DPI is not necessarily better: what matters is the final eDPI
- Set your mouse's native DPI to avoid sensor interpolation
- If your ideal cm/360 requires a very low DPI (<400), consider raising the in-game sensitivity
