Why is eDPI a better comparison than DPI on its own?
DPI only describes the sensor and in-game sensitivity only describes the game. eDPI multiplies the two and reflects the actual hand movement you make, which is the part that is comparable between players.
Do I still need to measure DPI if I set it in my mouse software?
Yes. Many sensors drift by a small percentage from the configured value, especially on interpolated steps. Measuring real DPI stops that offset from being carried into every conversion you run afterwards.
